Coach & Group Tour Visits

Explore Campbell Town and The Church —

A Unique Experience for Bus & Coach Tour Groups

Step back in time and discover one of Tasmania’s most unique group experiences within our beautifully restored 1857 heritage sandstone church.

Nestled in the heart of historic Campbell Town, The Church offers tour groups a memorable blend of local history, Scottish heritage, storytelling, beautiful gardens, and genuine country hospitality.

Perfect for seniors groups, social clubs, interstate visitors and statewide coach tours, this is far more than simply a meal stop — it’s an experience your guests will remember.

Your host, Nicole Graham, will personally welcome each group with warmth, humour and local knowledge, sharing the story of The Church, its restoration journey, and the fascinating history of the property and surrounding region.

Inside the church, guests can enjoy our immersive historical slideshow, projected on a continuous loop, featuring stories and imagery from Tasmania’s past, The Church’s rich history, and interesting insights into the local area.

Guests are also welcome to wander through our beautifully maintained heritage grounds and gardens, relax, take photos, and soak in the peaceful atmosphere.

We recommend allowing approximately 2+ hours to fully enjoy the experience.

FREE RECOMMENDED EXPERIENCE:

Harmony on High Street Gallery & Art Hub with Convict Brick Trail Introduction

While visiting Campbell Town, we highly recommend adding a stop at Harmony on High Street Gallery & Art Hub — a unique local gallery celebrating modern-day Tasmanian culture, creativity and talent.

Groups are warmly welcomed by owners Cory and/or Lee-Anne Peters, with the option of a relaxed self-guided wander or a guided talk through the large, open and inviting gallery space.

Guests can learn about Lee-Anne’s journey as a full-time professional artist, her creative process, and the inspiration behind her paintings, sculptures, jewellery and other works. The gallery also represents around thirty Tasmanian artists and features rotating exhibitions, handmade gifts, greeting cards and locally created pieces.

A special highlight of this visit is an introduction to Campbell Town’s Convict Brick Trail, recognised by visitors on TripAdvisor as Campbell Town’s number one tourist attraction. This powerful and moving memorial follows the main street of Campbell Town, with engraved bricks honouring individual convicts and sharing glimpses of their lives, stories and contributions to Tasmania’s history.

Nicole, owner of The Church, shares: “The Convict Brick Trail passes directly in front of the wonderful Harmony on High Street, making the gallery an ideal place to begin learning about its significance — not just to Campbell Town, but to Tasmanian, Australian and convict history more broadly. Owners, Cory and Lee-Anne have played an important role in supporting the survival and ongoing expansion of the Convict Brick Trail, helping preserve and promote Campbell Town’s remarkable convict history. What better way to experience and learn about it, than from those who have worked so hard to protect this important part of our town’s story.”

This is a FREE experience with no pressure to purchase. Questions are warmly welcomed, and seating is available for those who need it.

We recommend allowing approximately 45 minutes for this visit.

Please let us know if you would like us to assist with booking your group into Harmony on High Street Gallery & Art Hub as part of your Campbell Town visit. We will organise this for you and your group.

The Church Inclusion Statement At The Church, we proudly celebrate diversity— welcoming all cultures, identities, abilities, and life experiences. We’re committed to creating a safe, inclusive space where everyone feels seen, valued, and respected—just as they are. Inclusion and diversity are more than words; they’re at the heart of everything we do and strive for. We’re actively building a compassionate community where everyone truly belongs.

Safety, Inclusion & Care Information:

At The Church, everyone is welcome. We know that many of our coach and group visitors are active retirees who value comfort, friendliness, and a sense of community. That’s why we make it our priority to ensure every visit is safe, relaxed, and enjoyable.

Your safety and wellbeing are important to us. Our grounds are fully fenced for peace of mind, and we maintain a defibrillator on-site for emergencies. Nicole and Garry are both trained in First Aid, hold Working With Vulnerable People Cards, and bring extensive emergency services experience. These measures go beyond compliance — they reflect our ethos of genuine care and respect for our guests.

We also recognise that every group is different. Some visitors may enjoy exploring the gardens or strolling into the township, while others prefer to sit back, relax, and take in the history at their own pace. Our experiences are designed to be inclusive, flexible, and welcoming, with a focus on Tasmanian hospitality, good food, and connection.

In short, The Church is a place where mature Tasmanians — and visitors of every background — can gather, share stories, and make new memories. We believe in kindness, respect, and dignity for all, and we’re proud to offer a venue that feels both historic and homely, traditional and inclusive, and above all, welcoming to everyone who comes through our gates.

Food Safety & Leftovers
For your health and in line with Australian Food Safety Laws, we’re unable to provide “doggy bags” or allow leftovers to be taken from our premises. Once food has been served, the safe time for refrigeration has already passed.

Instead, any suitable leftovers are enjoyed by our happy on-site chooks — who in turn provide fresh eggs for your next visit.
