🍲 Roasted Kabocha Squash Soup

Vegan | Gluten-Free | 100% Homemade

Looking for comfort in a bowl with a little kick? Our Roasted Kabocha Squash Soup is a nourishing, restaurant-quality meal made from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients — and it’s just $10 per generous serve!

We slow-roast locally grown kabocha squash (a sweet, nutty Japanese pumpkin grown just 600 metres from The Church!) until golden and caramelised. It’s then blended with sautéed aromatics, and our signature touch: a gentle hint of chilli and cayenne pepper. The result? A velvety soup with depth, warmth, and just the right amount of spice to warm you from the inside out.

✅ What Makes It Special:

  • Large 600ml serve — perfect as a hearty main or easily split into two 300ml servings

  • Microwave & freezer-safe container for hassle-free storage and reheating

  • No commercial soup mixes or boosters — just real food, made the real way

  • Dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan-friendly and packed with plant-based goodness

  • Made with fresh, local produce, including seasonal kabocha from just 600m up the road

🥕 Ingredients:

Roasted kabocha squash, onion, celery, garlic, ginger, GF vegetable stock, ground cumin, ground coriander, a touch of chilli and cayenne pepper, salt & pepper.

Please note: Soup appearance may vary depending on seasonal veg, but the taste and quality remain top-notch!

Why Community Meals Matter in Our Rural Town

In our small rural community of around 900 residents, access to affordable, nutritious meals is more important than ever. With the rising cost of living, many people are struggling to balance expenses, and the price of fresh, quality ingredients continues to climb. Cooking every day can be a challenge, especially for those who are elderly, live alone, have mobility issues, demanding jobs, or simply prefer not to cook.

Our Frozen Budget Community Meals aim to fill this gap by providing wholesome, homemade meals at an affordable price, ensuring that everyone—regardless of their circumstances—has access to nourishing food. Whether it’s for convenience, health, financial reasons, or simply needing a break from cooking, these meals offer a simple, budget-friendly solution for our local community.

This initiative is not about profit—it’s about supporting our town and ensuring that good food remains accessible to those who need it most.

This is not a profitable commercial venture but a community-focused initiative, with most costs covering ingredients, packaging, labeling printer, ink & label reel costs, food license fees, a new freezer and running expenses, utilities, and a small contribution to labor. Our goal is to make nutritious, homemade meals accessible to those who need them while keeping prices as low as possible. This initiative is about supporting our local community, ensuring that everyone has access to wholesome, affordable food.
