๐ŸŒฟ Who is the cook behind The Church Catering? ๐ŸŒฟ

Meet Nicole Graham โ€“ passionate foodie, proud mum and grandmother, and the cook behind our community-focused catering at The Church in Campbell Town, Tasmania.
๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡งAlthough Nicole grew up on bland British/Australian versions of meat & 3 very boiled veg classics, from just 10 years of age, Nicole started experimenting with recipes and flavours from around the world. A true โ€œfoodieโ€ at heart, sheโ€™s deeply committed to the paddock-to-plate philosophy, supporting local Tasmanian growers and producers in every dish she creates.
Her experience spans decades โ€“ from owning and running the cafรฉ at the NSW Police Academy, to hosting elegant High Teas and events at The Church Hall (now her familyโ€™s home), and now bringing her vision for The Church Catering to life for community, meetings, and special celebrations.
๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธBefore her culinary journey, Nicole served with distinction in the NSW Police Force for 13 years, achieving roles such as Supervising Sergeant, Field Training Officer, Peer Support Officer, and specialist in child abuse and sexual assault investigations. Her career was marked by outstanding service and recognition for integrity, ethical conduct, and bravery, including:
๐Ÿ…Police Medal for Diligent & Ethical Service
๐Ÿ…Commended for Excellent Police Work in Devotion & Dedication to Duty in the arrest of a known violent & active criminal whilst off duty.
๐Ÿ…Recognised by Deputy Commissioner of Special Operations for Outstanding Integrity.
๐Ÿ…Certificate from Assistant Commissioner for Ethical Standards
๐Ÿ…President of Blue Light Youth Program
๐Ÿ’™After retiring due to PTSD, Nicole became a Beyond Blue Mental Health Speaker for over 10 years, sharing her journey across Australia to support others.
๐Ÿ†˜Nicole went on to create and grow a leading business in emergency medical identification before selling it in 2023 to focus fully on her true passion: hospitality, community, and connection through food.
๐Ÿ†A multi-award-winning entrepreneur, Nicole has received over a dozen national and regional business awards for customer service, innovation, business ethics, leadership, and more. She was also elected President of AUSBUY, representing Australian-owned businesses at a national level.
๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ‘ณโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿง•Nicole is also deeply committed to guest safety, care, and inclusion. Equally important to Nicole is fostering a welcoming, inclusive space where people of all backgrounds, abilities, cultures, and identities feel respected, valued, and at home. She believes in celebrating diversity and leads with kindness, empathy, and openness.
๐ŸคAs her business grows, Nicole looks forward to training and mentoring new team members, helping them build confidence, professionalism, and a sense of pride in their work. She is passionate about nurturing a positive team culture where individuals feel empowered to grow, collaborate, and thrive. At The Church, teamwork, acceptance, and genuine care will always be on the menu. ๐Ÿ’™
๐ŸฅฐHer happy place? Right here at The Church โ€“ cooking wholesome meals, tending the garden, being with her family and getting ready to welcome people to share in something real, heartfelt, and unique.
