Step back in time and explore some of Tasmania’s most remarkable historic estates on this elegant and enriching tour through the Midlands. Perfect for lovers of heritage, architecture, and beautiful gardens, this journey showcases grand country homes and the stories they hold.

We begin by travelling up the Midlands Highway to the World Heritage-listed Woolmers Estate (circa 1817), steeped in colonial and convict history and home to the spectacular National Rose Garden — a stunning display of over 5,000 rose varieties in full bloom during the flowering season.

Next, we visit the charming Georgian village of Evandale, a National Trust-classified town known for its perfectly preserved streetscapes and historical character. Just beyond lies the stately Clarendon House (circa 1838), considered one of Australia’s grandest colonial country homes. This extraordinary estate remains intact with original outbuildings, sweeping gardens, and river frontage.

We finish with a view of Vaucluse Estate (circa 1830s), a breathtaking historic property in Conara now used for weddings, private events, and boutique accommodation — a fine example of how Tasmania’s heritage homes have evolved into contemporary destinations.

Each property on this tour offers a rare and inspiring glimpse into Tasmania’s colonial past and the legacy of those who lived, worked, and preserved these grand estates over generations.

🧺 Add a Tasmanian Gourmet Picnic — include a selection of Tasmanian cheeses, cold meats, homemade hummus, fresh vegetables, olives, pickles, crusty breads, fresh eggs from our own hens, and our unique pork and wallaby terrine.

Relaxed. Stylish. Unforgettable.
