According To The Church – An Afternoon of A Cappella & Homemade Delights

Sunday 23 August | 2:00pm – 5:00pm

Enjoy an afternoon of beautiful A Cappella music and homemade hospitality inside our historic 1857 heritage-listed sandstone church.

Featuring over 20 singers from Hobart and Launceston, the programme showcases seven A Cappella quartets, each performing 2–3 songs in 10-minute sets, before concluding with a combined choral performance by all singers. The Church’s renowned acoustics provide the perfect setting for this unique musical experience.

Programme

  • 2:00pm – Concert begins with four quartet performances.
  • 2:45pm – 30-minute interval featuring homemade soups, a substantial homemade afternoon tea, and unlimited tea, freshly ground coffee, fruit punch and iced water. BYO alcohol.
  • 3:15pm – Three remaining quartets perform.
  • 4:00pm – Finale featuring all 20+ singers together, then enjoy drinks & conversation.

Tickets: $49.95 per person

Achording To The Church – An Afternoon of Acappella & Homemade Delights

Enjoy an afternoon of beautiful a cappella music and homemade hospitality inside our historic 1857 heritage-listed sandstone church.
Featuring 16 singers from Hobart, performing as seven different quartets, followed by a combined chorus—all showcased by The Church’s beautiful natural acoustics.

2:00pm – Arrival & Seating
2:15pm – Welcome & Introduction – Ric Finlay (Great-grandson of George Finlay, whose plaque is proudly displayed inside The Church, and the driving force behind this special event).
2:20pm – Classic Blend (Sonia, Donna, Ric, Paul)
2:30pm – Family Matters (Jenni, Ainslie, Katie, Sam)
2:40pm – Sneaky Peak (Bianca, Zana, Jim, Rohan)
2:50pm–3:20pm – Homemade Afternoon Tea Interval
Enjoy a generous selection of homemade sweet & savoury delights, including warm scones with jam & cream, quiche, sausage rolls, hot finger foods, lemon curd cheesecake, pavlova, homemade soups and much more!
Plus unlimited tea, freshly ground coffee, fruit punch & iced water.
